Bangor, ME (PRWEB) July 31, 2013
Personal injury lawyer Joe Bornstein of the Law Offices of Joe Bornstein is closely following the news about a fatal accident in Bangors July 4th parade. According to the Bangor Daily News, Police identify man crushed by antique fire truck at Independence Day parade (July 8, 2013), a man driving an antique tractor in the parade was killed when an off-duty firefighter accidentally ran over the tractor while driving an 83-year-old fire truck.
A 63-year-old man died instantly when his 1941 tractor tipped over and the 1930 Hose 5 Museum fire truck rolled on top of the driver during the Brewer-Bangor parade, the Daily News reported.
The Law Offices of Joe Bornstein, with offices throughout the state, including a fully staffed office in Bangor, is a Maine law firm that has handled a number of cases involving fatal injuries.
According to a July 4 article in the Bangor Daily News titled Utter chaos as man crushed by antique fire truck at Independence Day parade, witnesses told police that mechanical failure caused the truck to go out of control and slam into the rear of the tractor. While the July 4th accident is under investigation, Bornstein said today any accident involving an individuals death will raise a number of important questions that need to be answered.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the man fatally injured in the Bangor Independence Day parade accident, Bornstein said. Generally speaking, in a fatal accident authorities should not only look at the driver of the vehicle that struck the other person, but the road conditions, the condition of the vehicle and other possible contributing factors. They will want to interview any witnesses and examine any photos or video of the accident. Fatal accidents can become complicated, but its extremely important to determine exactly what happened.
Bornstein said a personal injury lawyer can help identify the causes of a fatal accident and obtain fair compensation for a victims family. No amount of compensation can bring someone back, but a family may face significant financial and emotional losses, Bornstein said. A personal injury lawyer can help hold a negligent individual or entity accountable. Someone injured through no fault of their own should not have to pay for their losses. Just as importantly, a lawsuit may ultimately lead to changes that prevent similar accidents from happening in the future.
