On Monday, Aug. 13, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will expand the number of health conditions qualifying for fast-track approval to 165. Thats good news for thousands of people whose conditions clearly meet the qualifications to receive Social Security disability benefits, according to Allsup, which has helped thousands of people to receive their Social Security Disability Insurance(SSDI) benefits.
Earlier this year, the SSA reported plans to expand the Compassionate Allowances program by adding 52 conditions to the list of diseases that clearly meet the statutory standard for disability. The SSA has worked with the National Institutes of Health on this initiative.
A small percentage of more than 3 million Social Security disability applications will fall under the Compassionate Allowances program, but there are important benefits, said Mike Stein, assistant vice president of claims at Allsup. Disability applicants who qualify for the Compassionate Allowances program often receive Social Security benefits in just a couple of weeks.
Visit Allsup.com for a complete list of Compassionate Allowances conditions. For information on qualifying for Social Security Disability Insurance benefits, call (800) 678-3276.
SSDI is a federally mandated disability insurance program overseen by the SSA that operates separately from the retirement and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) programs. SSDI provides monthly benefits to individuals who are under full retirement age (age 65 or older) and who can no longer work because of a severe disability expected to last for more than 12 months or is terminal. Individuals must have paid FICA taxes to be eligible.
Social Security Disability and Health Conditions
There are a number of benefits to seeking SSDI representation for people with severe disabilities. This can be true even for those who may qualify for the SSAs fast-track initiatives, Stein said.
Your claim is one of thousandsreally hundreds of thousandsthe SSA will receive. You will benefit by having an advocate, such as Allsup, represent you when dealing with the SSA, Stein said.
Allsup representatives also help Social Security disability claimants with their applications and appeals. We help you complete the proper documentation and ensure the necessary medical and work history are provided to the SSA, Stein explained.
Not all disability claims alleged with Compassionate Allowances conditions will be selected for the process. But with an Allsup representative, your claim will be flagged as a Compassionate Allowances claim, ensuring that SSA workers realize the claim should be quickly reviewed for Social Security benefits, Stein said.
Created in 2008, the Compassionate Allowances program quickly identifies Social Security disability claims that clearly qualify for benefits based on a predetermined list of diseases and conditions.
No matter your condition, its important to remember the SSA has strict application and disability criteria for receiving Social Security benefits, Stein said. Applicants still face the difficulty of compiling complete medical histories, providing documentation and other information the SSA requires.

How to Get Credit After Filing Bankruptcy: The Complete Guide to Getting and Keeping Your Credit Under Control
According to the United States Bankruptcy Courts, the number of bankruptcies filed each year is on the rise. People file bankruptcy for a variety of reasons, such as preventing foreclosure on their homes, preventing repossession of property, loss of employment, or reducing or eliminating debts. The most common types of bankruptcy for which individuals file are Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Chapter 7 involves the surrender of property to pay debts, while a Chapter 13 bankruptcy allows for the retenti

Patrick Porter and Brad Arbab have found a need in their community, and are doing everything they can to fill it. They are keenly aware of the array of pressures facing the modern family: work/life balance, far-flung support systems, extracurricular activities, academic achievement, etc. And so, they have opened the doors to two College Nannies & Tutors franchises in Laguna Beach and Newport Beach, CA. The company mission is to Build Stronger Families, and they are doing just that. Initial recruitment ads at seven local Orange County colleges have brought in over 70 applicants within the first couple of weeks, and the two grads have recruited the best and brightest. The team plans to hire 60+ more qualified applicants in 2010.
“After graduating into an economy with an overwhelmingly high youth unemployment rate, I decided to take a different approach and create more needed jobs, by starting a small business with College Nannies & Tutors. This allowed me to gain a true entrepreneurial experience, and also an opportunity to improve my community,” explains Patrick Porter, General Manager.
On the other side of the equation, phones continue to ring off of the hook, with interested families seeking their services. “Our families view high quality childcare and tutoring services as an investment, not an expense. The services we provide are an investment in their children’s education, and more importantly, their future,” explains Brad Arbab, Learning Center Director.
Patrick and his team are busy recruiting and filling new nanny and tutor positions in order to serve Orange County’s childcare needs. Top recruits are typically high achieving college students and graduates who have the experience and capacity to provide quality childcare. To ensure parental peace of mind, all employees receive a comprehensive background check via TrustLine and are CPR/first aid certified.
Developing a premier nanny and tutor staffing business isn’t easy. The two entrepreneurs have dedicated and focused their talents to a franchise from Minnesota-based College Nannies & Tutors, joining a team of 43 small business owners in over 50 communities nationwide. http://www.collegenannies.com Prior to opening the business, they completed two months of intensive training on all aspects of service delivery. According to Patrick, “Partnering with CNT was a win-win due to their professional approach to franchising combined with our shared vision of the business as an engine for job creation in our community.”
While the company focuses primarily on academic and child care support for families, its extensive talent network allows it to cater to other clients as well (e.g., enterprises with instruction and translation needs, convention bureaus.) Patrick and Brad share a contagious can-do spirit that allows them to convert ideas into custom solutions for organizations of all sizes and sectors.
